This course introduces the concept of functional taping methods to improve the movement and performance of patients and clients. It includes a review of current literature supporting the theories of kinesiology taping for enhancement of rehabilitation or performance outcomes such as edema/swelling management, neurologic conditions of pain and nerve entrapment, scar mobility and postural control. This is an evidence-informed kinesiology taping course that redefines our understanding of the effects of elastic therapeutic taping on pain mitigation, circulation and proprioception. You’ll learn the groundwork for a practical framework of ‘taping movement, not muscles’ to replace an outdated model focused on directional taping, prescribed tape stretch percentages and activation or inhibition of muscles.
This course is intended for medical and performance professionals with all levels of taping experience.
