Your clients have spent years besieged by death, loss and uncertainty.

For many there will be no “return to normal” – driving more grieving clients than ever before into the care of professionals.

But for far too long graduate school grief education has neglected to cover assessment, complex grief, non-death grief and clinical interventions. The result? Therapists like you often feel unprepared to provide grief-related services.

It’s time to change all that. Dr. Christina Zampitella is a clinical psychologist and recognized grief expert who’s trained thousands of professionals on grief work. In this all NEW live 2-day certification training she’ll show you how you can confidently counsel and treat grieving clients and help them integrate loss into their lives.

Complete evidence-based tools, proven strategies you can use right away, and case studies that make the work understandable, relevant and attainable, you’ll leave able to:

  • Tailor clinical interventions to the uniqueness of each client’s grief
  • Counsel and treat clients who experienced different types of losses
  • Build clients’ resilience and help them make meaning
  • Reduce symptoms of complicated grief
  • Walk with clients on the path toward post-traumatic growth
  • And much more!

Best of all, upon completion of this training, you’ll be eligible to become a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) through Evergreen Certifications letting colleagues, employers, and clients know that you’ve invested the extra time and effort necessary to understand the complexities of grief.

Don’t wait. The grief pandemic is one of the greatest mental health crises of our time and clients need your help now.

Key Takeaways You Will Use on Monday
  • Strengthen your diagnostic clarity by avoiding common missteps: particularly the misdiagnosis of normative or prolonged grief as depression, adjustment disorder, or trauma-related conditions.
  • Learn to recognize and hold space for grief that often goes unseen: including non-death losses, disenfranchised grief, and the grief clinicians themselves may carry, such as the loss of a client.
  • Support clients in rebuilding meaning after loss through meaning reconstruction, helping them move toward a narrative that can hold both what was and what now is.
  • Work skillfully with regret, guilt, and shame using targeted interventions and self-compassion practices that foster resilience and gently reopen the path toward healing.

A Personal Invitation from Dr. Christina Zampitella

I wrote my dissertation on the disenfranchised grief of adult surviving siblings as part of earning my doctorate in clinical psychology—but my connection to grief and trauma began long before I had the credentials to name it.

Twenty years later, I’m a clinical psychologist, Fellow in Thanatology, and traumatologist. I continue to sit with clients each week, and as the founder of the Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy in Delaware—where every clinician specializes in grief and trauma—I’ve built my life around this work. This training is taught from that place: the therapy room, the lived experience, and the ongoing commitment to doing this well.

Over our time together, I’ll share my own losses and bring in real clinical cases. I’ll walk you through the tools my team uses every day—approaches to differential diagnosis, thoughtful treatment planning, and focused work with guilt, regret, and shame, along with cultural and spiritual considerations you can integrate immediately into your practice.

We’ll also make space for the losses that are often left unnamed—the non-death losses, the grief that isn’t always recognized or validated, and the experiences people don’t feel they have permission to mourn. That includes the grief we carry as clinicians.

You might be here to deepen work you’re already doing well. You might know grief is walking into your office this week and want more tools to meet it. And for many clinicians, this is also a space to better understand their own grief—if that’s true for you, you don’t have to leave that part of yourself behind.

You’re here for a reason. I’d be honored to do this work alongside you.

— Dr. Zampitella

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I already work with grieving clients but have no formal grief training?

That's exactly who this is for. Most clinicians never got real training in grief—just a lecture or two in grad school. This course gives you the assessment tools, clinical interventions, and confidence to do the work you're already being asked to do. Register now and show up Monday ready.

Is this just theory, or will I actually leave with something I can use?

You'll leave with tools you can use immediately—validated assessments, DBT and CBT techniques for traumatic grief, frameworks for "living losses," and strategies to protect yourself from burnout. Dr. Z brings real clinical cases throughout, so nothing stays abstract. Register now and see for yourself.
