Jennifer
Okemah, MS, RDN, CSSD, BC-ADM, CDCES
Jennifer Okemah is the owner of a diabetes and
nutrition private practice with incorporated telehealth technology. Demonstrated history of
management and directorial positions working in the hospital, outpatient, and physician
clinics. Exceptionally skilled in diabetes technology devices such as Insulin Pumps, CGMs,
meters, apps, and computer data programs. Focus on patient education for disease management of
Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, and Weight Management and Sports Nutrition. Strong education
professional with a foundation of a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Washington State
University and a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Central Oklahoma.
As a registered nurse for 36 years, Dr. Long has
worked in critical care, emergency medicine, primary care, and endocrinology. She is a
Professor of Nursing at Roseman University and a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been a
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist for 25 years and teaches a certified diabetes
educator review course. She teaches medical Spanish and one of her favorite activities is
taking nurses and allied healthcare professionals each summer to offer free medical clinics to
underserved communities around the world with her non-profit organization bridgesforhealth.org
As a published author she has written a book on how to thrive with diabetes not just survive,
three children's health books, three books on family history and many professional
research articles. She married her college sweetheart, and they have their own “Long
Legacy” of 6 children who teach her what's really important in life.
